Producers create new blends by experimenting with different tobaccos from countries like Nicaragua, Honduras, Ecuador, Brazil, Indonesia and Mexico, creating new proprietary blends that make their way to cigar shops around the world.
No fewer than 10 of those new blends are on the shelves of M.A.’s Smoke House right now – handpicked by Buddy Williams, manager of M.A.’s Cigars of Shreveport and Bossier City.
“Our customers enjoy experimenting with new blends and interesting tastes, so we’re always on the lookout for something new,” says Buddy.
These three picks originate in the Dominican Republic and include The Cohiba Macassar, The Cohiba Blue and the La Gloria Cubana Serie.

The Cohiba Macassar

The Cohiba Blue is a wonderland of flavor showcasing a three-country blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran tobaccos, all held together by a Honduran habano binder showcased in a smooth Honduran wrapper.
The medium-bodied Blue is produced in the Dominican Republic but features a lot of Honduran tobacco. Its flavor profile consists of rich hints of sweet leather, earth, cream and cinnamon.
La Gloria Cubana Serie R
Origin: Dominican Republic
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra (Natural) or the Connecticut Broadleaf (Maduro)
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Dominican, Nicaraguan
Created by El Credito Cigar Factory, the La Gloria Cubana Serie R offers a refined flavor, both spicy and powerful.
The blend is made in the Dominican Republic and features Nicaraguan ligero and Dominican Olor filler leaves that are matured several years longer than those in the line’s original blend. This makes the Serie R more robust, yet smooth.
The cigar is finished with an oily Ecuadorian Sumatra or a heartier Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, adding to the bold flavors and hints of spice.
